We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Coordinator to oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance activities for fibre network infrastructure. This role ensures that all maintenance tasks—both preventative and corrective—are carried out efficiently, safely, and in line with operational and service level requirements.Minimum Requirements
- 2–4 years’ experience in a maintenance coordination, scheduling, or dispatch role—preferably in telecommunications, fibre, or network infrastructure.
- Understanding of fibre optic networks, equipment, and maintenance processes.
- Strong organisational and scheduling abilities.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to urgent situations.
- Proficiency in maintenance management systems and MS Office Suite.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all maintenance activities for fibre optic infrastructure, including both preventative and corrective work.
- Liaise with field technicians, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely execution of maintenance tasks.
- Monitor network performance and respond promptly to maintenance requests, faults, or service interruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and work orders.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement when required.
- Analyse recurring issues and recommend process or equipment improvements to reduce downtime.
- Support outage management and emergency response activities.
- Prepare regular maintenance reports for management.
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position based on a 40-hour work week.
- Primarily based in the office around Melrose, Johannesburg.
- Working hours:
- 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM (Monday to Friday) – From the 2nd Sunday of March until the 1st Sunday of November
- 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM (Monday to Friday) – From the 1st Sunday in November until the 2nd Sunday of March
- US public holidays will apply. South African public holidays will not apply
- 15 days of leave
