
Area Manager - Food Services

- Matric (Grade 12) required; relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage.
- Minimum of 3–4 years’ Food Service FMCG sales experience dealing with national and regional clients, with a proven successful track record.
- Own vehicle.
- Must be willing and able to travel.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Develop and implement territory sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Schedule and conduct meetings with designated buyers.
- Maintain and build strong customer relationships.
- Identify new business opportunities within the food service sector (e.g., restaurants, QSRs, catering companies).
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to adjust sales strategies.
- Track and report on sales performance, market penetration, and revenue growth.
- Manage Retail Selling Price (RSP) and margins.
- Negotiate deals within set parameters and accept accountability for outcomes.
- Conduct monthly performance reviews with customers.
- Expand business opportunities through various routes to market.
- Manage free stock budget efficiently.
- Ensure claims and credits are submitted for supervisor approval.
- Investigate and verify all credit claims from finance for regional manager approval.
- Collect customer feedback and conduct market research.
- Provide regular reports to senior management.
- Drive new business development, including cold calling.
- Utilize Skynamo (or similar CRM/sales tracking tool):
- Update call cycles monthly for representatives.
- Delegate store allocations to sales reps.
- Submit personal monthly call cycle to administration.
- Complete store visit audits and forms as per procedure.
- Ensure team adherence to daily syncing and proper log-off protocols.
