
Group Accountant

- Prepare accurate financial statements and management accounts for the group.
- Manage statutory submissions and ensure compliance with financial, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness.
- Independently manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Complete reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies across group entities.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in financial records.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
- Ensure processes are documented and followed consistently.
- Act as the single point of accountability for financial governance across the group.
- Prepare management reports, board packs, and variance analyses.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide timely financial insights to support decision-making.
- Take ownership of accounting systems, with a strong emphasis on Xero.
- Ensure accurate and efficient use of the system across the group.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve financial processes.
- BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in financial accounting and compliance.
- Thorough, hands-on knowledge of Xero accounting software.
- Thorough, hands-on knowledge of corporate tax (specifically VAT and income tax) compliance and administration
- Strong ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver under pressure.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Completed articles (SAICA/SAIPA)
- Experience in a multi-entity or group environment.
- Exposure to audit processes and internal control frameworks.
- Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
