Our Security Officer Learnership provides unemployed youth or entry-level job seekers with theoretical knowledge and practical training in safety and security services. The program prepares learners to qualify as registered security officers through the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA), typically at Grade C level or higher.Key Duties and Responsibilities:On-the-Job Security Training:Learn how to monitor and patrol premises to prevent unauthorized access, theft, or vandalismAssist in conducting access control at gates or building entrancesObserve CCTV systems under supervision (if applicable)Safety and Incident Reporting:Learn to respond appropriately to security breaches, emergencies, or suspicious behaviorAssist in completing incident reports and daily activity logsParticipate in fire drills and emergency evacuation proceduresCustomer Service Support:Greet visitors and direct them as neededProvide clear communication while enforcing site rulesLearn to manage conflict and handle complaints professionallyAccess Control Duties:Check ID cards, visitor registers, and delivery documentsPerform searches on people and vehicles where requiredEnforce site entry/exit protocols and lockdown proceduresLearning and Compliance:Attend all required classroom-based training sessionsComplete assessments toward obtaining a security qualification (e.g., NQF Level 3 or PSIRA Grade C)Follow all workplace health, safety, and security policiesRequirements:Grade 10 or Grade 12 (Matric preferred)Must be between 18 and 35 years oldSouth African citizenship or valid work documentationNo criminal record (required for PSIRA registration)Willingness to learn and work shiftsPhysically fit, reliable, and honestQualification Outcome (May Include):PSIRA Grade C CertificateNational Certificate: General Security Practices (NQF Level 3)Work experience in a real security environmentThe post appeared first on .
