- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems including conveyors, chilling units, hydraulic systems, pneumatic tools, saws, and other abattoir-specific machinery.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Collaborate with production, QA, and health & safety teams to ensure machinery operates in compliance with hygiene, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Design and modify mechanical components or equipment layouts to improve production efficiency and safety.
- Respond rapidly to equipment breakdowns and ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, technical documentation, and equipment history.
- Oversee installation and commissioning of new equipment and coordinate with vendors as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a food processing plant or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, gearboxes).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics. * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
