This role offers the opportunity to curate and oversee exceptional wine experiences across multiple lodges within the reserve, ensuring guests enjoy a world-class dining experience.Package:Salary: Negotiable depending on experienceLive-in positionKey Responsibilities:Curate and manage wine lists for multiple properties within the reserveSource, select, and maintain wine stock to meet the highest quality standardsConduct wine tastings, pairings, and training sessions for staff and guestsWork closely with chefs to develop exceptional food and wine pairing experiencesOversee wine storage, inventory control, and stock rotation proceduresMaintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate purchasing agreementsKeep up-to-date with wine trends, regions, and industry developmentsRequirements:Recognised sommelier qualification or equivalent experienceProven experience as a sommelier, ideally in a luxury lodge or fine-dining environmentExtensive knowledge of international and South African winesExcellent communication and presentation skillsStrong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detailAbility to train and inspire team members to deliver exceptional servicePersonal Attributes:Professional and well-presentedPassionate about wine and hospitalityCreative and innovative in delivering memorable guest experiencesSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently across multiple locations
