- Manage day-to-day logistics activities to maximise the efficiency, reliability and cost effectiveness of the organization’s supply chain.
- Direct the movement, storage and processing of inventory to ensure a cost-effective flow of activities
- Examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet customer needs
- Manage direct materials and equipment planning (lugs, dollies etc.)
- Manage and maintain inventory control program of product in storage warehouses
- Manage relationships and negotiate transport rates with logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries
- Liaise with functional and operations area managers to ensure supply activities are integrated with other parts of the business
- Lead, direct, evaluate and develop warehouse colleagues to ensure resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met
- Maintain metrics and analyse data to assess performance and implement improvements to optimize warehouse functions
- Actively involved in data capturing and audit programs, physical inventory, cycle counting, delivery and non-conformance material flow process
- Drive supply chain initiatives between sales and operations
- Proven experience as a Logistics Manager in the food and beverage manufacturing industry
- Grade 12 (NQF 4) or equivalent
- A National Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Operations / Logistics / Business or related field
- At least 4 years in supply chain management
- At least 4 years’ experience managing a team
- At least 5 years’ experience in a FMCG industry
- Good, proven knowledge in Food Safety (FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000 / IBL Standards)
