  • Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures in line with legal and industry requirements.
  • Conduct and implement risk assessments.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes, manage corrective actions, and maintain records
  • Monitor safety controls, PPE use, and the implementation of safe work procedures.
  • Ensure legal compliance in waste management, air quality, water use, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Deliver HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks to employees and contractors.
  • Drive safety culture through awareness campaigns and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, legal appointments, and SHE documentation
  • Monthly Environmental statistics
  • Compile monthly SHE reports on performance
  • Maintain waste and environmental management according to legislation.
  • Develop, implement, and review risk management plans and safe working procedures (SWPs).
  • Ensure effective implementation of safety measures such as lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and emergency stop systems.
  • Develop and deliver health, safety, and environmental training programs and toolbox talks for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Conduct safety orientations and inductions for new hires and contractors.
  • Promote a safety culture by leading safety campaigns, awareness programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of HSE activities, including safety audits, inspections, incident reports, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit regular HSE performance reports to management, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and action plans.
Qualifications
  • Matric/ Grade 12
  • Environmental or related qualification is essential
Skills
  • A minimum of 4 years Health, Safety and Environmental experience
  • Sound Legal knowledge in Safety, Health and Environment
  • Fully Computer Literate in Microsoft office and ability to learn any online system quickly.
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
  • Valid Drivers License
