Job SummaryA leading manufacturer in the plastic industry is seeking a highly experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their maintenance function in Southdale, Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical, electrical, and plumbing background, coupled with a proven track record in leading teams and managing maintenance strategies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Responsibilities:

:Develop, implement, and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance strategies
Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and procurement
Ensure machinery, systems, and plant infrastructure operate efficiently and safely
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns and technical issues
Lead and supervise a team of technicians and artisans
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
Coordinate with production and operations teams to minimize downtime
Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
Identify areas for process improvement and cost savings

Requirements:

Degree or equivalent certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field
10+ years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment
At least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role
Strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Hands-on experience with large-scale machinery and automation systems
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Willingness to travel occasionally between sites
