Senior Millwright - JhbFull job descriptionAbout the jobTo manage, monitor and execute preventative and reactive maintenance in the packaging departments within the Danone Factory. Coach and guide team members on maintenance related activities and problem-solving techniques. Drive continuous improvement. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYQualityEnsure adherence to quality standards, procedures, policies and practicesEnsure that all breakdowns and preventative maintenance and/or scheduled maintenance activities are carried out to high standards of workmanshipAdhere to HACCP and CIP protocolsMonitor and ensure compliance with housekeeping standards: ensure that work areas and machinery is kept clean at all times100 % adherence to all DPM’s for allocated area CostsEnsure that breakdowns are attended to timeously, thereby reducing production downtime.Minimize stoppages and increase plant availability by implementing plant maintenance strategies.Ensure that maintenance tasks are executed within budget (i.e., reduce spare parts consumption where possible and attempt to curtail costs associated with breakdowns)Adhere to finance related policies, procedures and controlsContinuously identify cost effect ways of delivering world class service, identify cost saving initiatives and recommend improvementsLead maintenance specific problem solving initiativesEnsure critical spare parts available per designated area DeliveryProactively implement the maintenance plan.Report on the efficiency of the maintenance plan and suggest improvements where possibleSupport the Millwright when conducting preventative maintenance tasks and fixing breakdowns.Monitor the performance of team members to ensure that breakdown and scheduled maintenance is executed within the agreed time frameMonitor the packaging / processing areas (from a maintenance viewpoint) to ensure smooth operation at all timesLiaise with stores to ensure that all spare parts are available to execute the maintenance plan.Monitor, measure and trend maintenance related production downtime. Use this information to improve maintenance service to the factory.Assist in assembling, commissioning and decommissioning linesUphold Good Manufacturing Practice principles.Monitor and ensure that all CUTE/Shopware documentation is completed accuratelyEnsure adherence to DAMAWY procedures and processComplete all required documentation as required (maintenance, safety, quality, etc.)Attend department required meetingsAdhere to escalation procedure Team Management/MoraleMotivate, engage, inspire team members: encourage team members to strive for excellence in all that they doCoach and guide team members on maintenance related activities and problem solving techniquesBe the custodian of the company values and CODEMonitor KPIs and lead initiatives aimed at achieving targets setTake responsibility for your own learning and development (subject to budgetary constraints) and performance EnvironmentEnsure adherence to the environment policies, procedures and standards SafetyEnsure that employees are properly trained on safe work procedures.Manage and monitor adherence to safety regulations, procedures and policiesIdentify, manage and report safety hazardsExecute safety incident/accident investigations as requiredParticipate in safety dialogues as per guidelinesParticipate in safety audits and action plan implementation as and when requiredEnsure compliance with LOTO procedures About youKEY REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB Qualification(s) & Experience:N3/N4, Qualified Millwright5 - 10 years’ maintenance experience within a FMCG environment, Processing, Utilities and Packaging experience would be an advantage.
