Operations Controller

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Relevant tertiary qualification will be viewed favourably.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in a full function Freight Controller position.
• Valid South African Drivers licence.
• Computer literate.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail with strong admin abilities a must.
• Willingness to learn and understand.
• Deadline driven but outcomes focused.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to perform duties with limited supervision.
• Good organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Customs clearing.
• Negotiation Skills.
• Good Financial Acumen.
• Cost conscious.

• Execution of the complete import and export cycle both sea and air.

• Compilation of logistics estimates in a reasonable time frame as stipulated by management.
• Administration and control of shipping documents (SAD500, Customs EDI, Notifications etc).
• Cost control (Landed cost control, cost valuation check, freight authorisations etc).
• Ensure all files are completed and audited for accuracy before handover (payment).

• Liaising with freight agents.
• Liaising with transporters, airlines, shipping lines & other third parties.
• Organising the dispatch, delivery and collection of all orders.
• Ensure billing documentation is completed correctly as approved by the client.
• Keeping clients well informed on the progress of their shipments.

• Resource planning and allocation.
• Ensure profitable utilization of equipment and staff.
• Co-ordinating with warehouse for planned execution.
• Co-ordinating with warehouse to ensure operational control.

• Query resolution.
