- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in isiXhosa First Additional Language in accordance with the CAPS curriculum but utilising an inquiry-based and project-based approach..
- Develop and implement a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through tests, assignments, and continuous assessment.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance
- Participate in our afterschool support programme
- Act as part of a homeroom teacher team supporting your register class in a variety of activities.
- Contribute to the development of departmental and school-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and effective learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
- Maintain discipline and a positive classroom atmosphere.
- Engage with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Education or a degree with a PGCE) at Senior and FET phase.
- Specialisation in isiXhosa Home Language or First Additional Language.
- SACE registration in good standing is essential.
- 2 years proven experience teaching isiXhosa at a high school level is highly desirable.
- Ability to design and moderate assessments would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for teaching and a deep understanding of isiXhosa language, literature, and culture.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using computers and educational technology.
- A clean criminal record.
