- Testing of samples from Production using the correct procedures/ methods.
- Quality control checks on the production line and sample collection when required.
- Testing of incoming raw materials samples.
- Performing any product application tests, product stability tests, etc. as required.
- Calibration/verification checks on instrumentation.
- Maintain laboratory instruments and apparatus and ensure preventative maintenance conducted.
- Diagnose any incorrect results and troubleshoot or report to the technical manager.
- Complete Reporting of results within the time frame as per procedures in place.
- Completion of any data summaries/ quality control charts related to lab results.
- Filing/scanning of COAs and any other documents related to Lab.
- Assisting in updating product specification data sheets/ info on the lab database.
- Assist the technical manager on new development work/ R&D projects.
- Keep abreast of new trends, current developments, and relevant research.
- Assist technical manager to set-up new equipment, develop new SOPs, etc.
- Good housekeeping of the laboratory and immediate workspace.
- Laboratory inventory: assist with and recording of lab consumables and lab equipment/ stock levels.
- Suggest and contribute to continuous improvement of the lab & QC system.
- Comply with and adhere to all quality and safety requirements within the company.
- Ensure personal productivity and performance meet required standards
- This position is based in the Laboratories manufacturing plant based in Brakpan.
- This position is based in an industrial factory with automated machinery.
- This position must be medically fit and mobile
- Bachelors degree in chemistry/ Qualification in Quality Control / Diploma in
- chemistry or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally in a lab, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Experience in dry mix mortars/construction chemicals/ Paint technology will be beneficial to this role.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with other lab colleagues and the production team.
- Proficiency in using software tools (Microsoft Word, Excell. Etc.) and willingness to learn any new lab software/SAP system.
- Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Problem-solving aptitude with the ability to make good decisions under pressure.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to be a team player.
- Be willing to work overtime when required.
