- Has a bachelor's degree in education (B.Ed.) or an appropriate teaching qualification: Preferably with a specialization in Foundation Phase education.
- Has a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Remedial Education.
- Is registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
- Has at least 2-5 years of remedial teaching experience in the Foundation Phase.
- Has experience working with learners who have special educational needs, learning difficulties, or developmental delays.
- Understands common learning difficulties (e.g., dyslexia, ADHD, language delays).
- Has the ability to assess and identify learning barriers and implement individual education plans.
- Has the skills to modify and adapt the curriculum to meet the specific needs of learners.
- Able to put strategies in place for managing challenging behaviour often seen in children requiring remedial support.
- Has the ability to teach using various methods tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Has an aptitude for innovative teaching methodologies.
- Has strong communication skills, written, verbal, presentation and training.
- Has a collaborative, cooperative, and patient mind-set.
- Has a willingness to participate fully in the extracurricular programme and all school activities.
- Aligns with the foundational values of the school’s Christian principles.
