The Shunter Driver is responsible for moving, positioning, and organising trucks and trailers. They ensure that vehicles are correctly positioned for loading, unloading, or maintenance while following safety and operational procedures.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMove and position trucks and trailers.Connect and disconnect trailers from trucks.Ensure vehicles are correctly positioned for loading or unloading operations.Conduct basic safety checks on vehicles before and after movement.Maintain clear communication with yard staff, forklift drivers, and dispatch teams.Follow health, safety, and traffic regulations at all times.Keep the yard or depot organised for efficient operations.Report any vehicle defects or operational issues to supervisors.RequirementsEducation: Minimum Grade 10–12 or equivalent.License: Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).Experience: Previous experience as a shunter driver, truck driver, or similar role is an advantage.Skills:Good driving skills and ability to handle heavy vehicles in confined spaces.Knowledge of yard or depot safety procedures.Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.Basic mechanical awareness for vehicle checks.Other:Physically fit and able to work outdoors in different weather conditions.Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays if required.Reliable and safety-conscious.Market related salary.The post appeared first on .
