Join us in cultivating not just grapes, but a future rich in growth and opportunity.The purpose of a farm manager job is multifaceted and includes overseeing all aspects of farm operations to ensure efficient and successful production.Duties and responsibilities:Operational management - Manipulation of vineyardsFull management of Vineyard, includingPruning of VinesHarvest ControlHarvesting of grapesCrop protection and crop promotionFungicide and insecticide spraysAny other related crop protection sprays that may be used in the production of table grapesFertilization and Soil amendmentsTaking soil and leaf samples at given timesAny soil corrections for mature as well as new vinesFertilization of saplingsAny nutrition-related applications that accompany table grape cultivationPlanting of new vineyardsGround preparation-related tasksLiaison with soil experts and laboratoriesTaking soil samplesSupervision of land preparation machinesErection of Gazebo SystemMeasuring blockPlanting of polesConstruction of arbour systemWater managementIrrigationDraining of wet spotsFinancial ManagementBudgeting and financial planning for the farmEnsure that all resources are allocated effectivelyMonitor expensesGeneral management functionsGeneral staff management and motivationAddress escalated people-related issues and progressive disciplinary mattersControl and management of vehiclesUnderstanding and keeping track of relevant auditQualifications and Experience:Qualifications:B. Sc Agric or similar tertiary qualification would be advantageousExperience:A minimum of 10 years practical seasonal experience in the production of table grapes and farm management.Must be able to draw up a farm’s budget and managed the budgetComputer programs (MS Office)Other knowledge and skills required:Good planning ability (short, medium, and long-term)Knowledge of all auditsMust be able to manage costs effectivelyKnowledge of cultivating plants to produce fruit to the required standards.Good interpersonal and communication skillsA work ethic that prizes accuracy, thoroughness, drive, and integrityDemonstratable management and leadership qualities.Must be physically fit to perform the work.Valid Driver’s licenceAble to speak, read and write in English or Afrikaans.
