Job DescriptionThe primary role of a Production Superintendent is to oversee the manufacturing process within a company, ensuring that production lines operate smoothly with minimal downtime. Working together with supervisors and top management, they also ensure that products are manufactured to a certain quality standard and adhere to other safety/industry-related regulations.Job ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to quality standards and production schedules.· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance overall productivity and reduce costs.· Implement efficient production schedules and workflows.· Perform root cause analysis, incident reports, and corrective actions - resolve problems.· Stock management and control.· Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained.· Conduct routine audits/risk assessments of equipment and facilities and resolve issues.· Delegate authority and responsibility to the team with supervision, accountability, and review.· Collaborate with department supervisors to address and resolve production challenges.· Set tasks and prioritize work across the team.· Support for engineering breakdowns and maintaining plant standards.· Manage daily plant efficiencies and inspections.· Ensure quality feed production.· Maintain accurate reports and records.· Reporting on a weekly and monthly basis or as otherwise required.· Develop a plan for team activities to include a strategy to achieve targets.· Ensure the availability of necessary tools and equipment.· Ensure that the correct skills are present within the teams.· Provide training for factory personnel on production and maintenance processes and use of equipment.· Perform and verify Performance Evaluations on direct reports at least twice a year.· Address employee relations matters fairly and promptly.· Ensure that production and safety standards comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.· Comply with the requirements of ISO and Quality Management Systems.· From time to time, you may be required to be part of special projects.Desired Experience and QualificationsQualification:· Matric/NQF Level 3· Production Management and Diploma /Degree in Rubber/Polymer Technology· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) applications is essential.· Exposure to Pastel will be advantageous.Minimum Requirement· A minimum of 10 years of work experience in a managerial position in the FMCG Industry /Rubber Industry· Excellent planning and organizing skills required.· Strong knowledge of production concepts, including mechanical and basic electrical systems.· Ability to keep track of activity reports.· Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision-making.· Understanding of ISO and other systems.· Attended to various production/quality audits.· Valid Drivers License and own reliable transport.
