- Sales Expertise: Strong sales skills are essential, including prospecting, negotiating, and closing deals. The representative should be skilled at identifying opportunities, building relationships, and persuading customers to support our products;
- Account Management: Understand customer needs, develop customer plans, and implement strategies to maximize sales, increase market share, and customer satisfaction. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills;
- Product and Category Knowledge: A deep understanding of the company's products and services is necessary to effectively promote and sell. Be able to articulate commercial benefits and value propositions to customers;
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the industry in which the representative operates is important. This includes understanding market trends, competitors, and consumer preferences to stay ahead of the competition and identify new opportunities;
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse sales data, market trends, and customer insights is valuable for identifying growth opportunities, assessing account performance, and making informed decisions. Have strong analytical skills for developing sales strategies and optimizing results;
- Relationship Building: Building and nurturing strong relationships with key accounts is crucial for long-term success. Be skilled in building rapport, maintaining regular communication, and providing excellent customer service to foster trust and loyalty;
- Technical Ability: Ability in utilizing CRMis important for managing customer audits, implementing tactical KPI’s, and capturing all trade insights/activity;
- Adaptability: Must be flexible, resilient, and open to learning and implementing new techniques to stay competitive;
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills is essential for effective customer interactions, negotiation, and building relationships. Be able to tailor communication to different segments, listen actively, and communicate clearly and persuasively;
- Management skills: Responsible for daily management of sales merchandising agency
- Sales Experience: +5 years FMCG sales experience, particularly in the liquor industry,
- Qualifications: Commercial/Marketing related national diploma or degree.
- A recognised wine certification such as Cape Wine Academy or Wine & Spirit Education Trust would be an advantage,
- Have a key interest in business and finance – commercial acumen
