Job Description :ROLE OVERVIEW:The Municipal Administrator will be responsible for assisting with council billing, reporting, and risk management. Utilities include, but are not limited to, water, electricity, sewer, effluent, refuse, alternative energy solutions, back-up electricity, gas, and other utilities that may be used.RESPONSIBILITIESUtility Management:Manage the relationship between landlord, service providers, and tenants to optimize output.Source accounts from the respective supply authority.Assist with tenant and council-related queries, as well as the opening of new council accounts.Perform regular reporting and risk management.Handle utility accounting and administrative functions.Provide support to the inland team and associated functions.Verification and Optimization:Assist with utility accounting and administration to ensure accurate cost and recovery accounting per billing cycle.Vet and approve reports on municipal bills.Check and verify tariffs.Energy Assessments:Ensure buildings are on the most beneficial utility rates.Conduct assessments, feasibility studies, and reporting.Risk Management:Ensure compliance with relevant acts and bylaws.Assist the manager in developing processes and systems to ensure compliance and reduce business risk.RequirementsREQUIREMENTSExperience in the property industry and handling municipal accounts (essential)Experience with creditors, account reconciliations, and payments (essential)Intermediate Excel proficiencyValid driver’s licenseAdvantageous: Experience handling council queries, knowledge of Pastel/SAGE ERP 300SKILLSTeam-oriented with strong interpersonal skillsService-driven and helpful attitudeAnalytical and detail-focusedStrong with numbers and financial processesExcellent written and verbal communicationConflict management abilitiesPlanning and organizational skillsAssertive, energetic, and adaptableAchievement and deadline-orientedStrong time managementResilient under pressure
