Duties & Responsibilities • Ensure that the business delivers on the set strategy • Formulate the business growth strategy • Provide strategic direction and input into the next 3-5 years • Provide strategic direction in relation to the attainment of growth within existing and new markets and or customers and ensure that the business delivers on this strategy • Provide strategic direction in relation to markets, customers, competitors, regions, countries that we should be in • Monitor and evaluate progress on all projects • Provide direction to teams and clients to achieve results • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the required design • Deliver at least 1 project a year to the Logistics Achiever Awards event • Develop new and existing client relationships and ensure either new business or sell on work • Provide support in and/or lead contract renewals • Provide innovative supply chain solutions to clients that result in annuity-based revenue for Unitrans • Monitor and evaluate sales pipeline and ensure all timelines are met in securing the deal. • Identify and develop new client relationships or potential acquisitions • Ensure a healthy sales pipeline taking sales cycles into account and the future growth required by Unitrans divisions • The development of strategic customer relationships and ensuring alignment with our customer's objectives • Constant competitor and market monitoring in terms of shifts at our customers, competitors and the supply chain industry both locally and abroad • Deliver solutions in all aspects of supply chain management from developing a design, implementing the design and also managing the design • Identify, chase down and monitor the clients that we want • Report on all sales and marketing activities to EXCO • Manage and oversee resources to all work within CSD and monitor progress • Ensure that utilizations of staff are in line with budget and that maximum utilization is achieved • Ensure work allocated is aligned to aspirations of staff, availability and capability • Balance productivity with billing, revenue and EBIT and ensure that utilization of staff results in meeting budgetary financial targets • Ensure that work delivered by CSD is of the highest quality • Prioritization of activities and projects when required • Deliver the CSD budget in terms of cost and value • Monitor and control all aspects of CSD financials against plan and budget in relation to cost control and sales targets • Design and implement or tweak new business processes during the year and ensure strict adherence to these. • Finalise all aspects of monthly financials including customer and intercompany billing and reporting in line with Unitrans group policy • Input and finalization of the business plan and annual budgets with MD • Monitor and control all expenditure within the CSD division • Cash flow and working capital management • Preparation of the monthly management report packs and sales and marketing reports • Provisions and accrual management and control • Ensure a robust staff attraction, retention and reward strategy • Build and continue building a team culture that ensures absolute alignment to the greater goals of the business • Ensure constructive performance management processes that is aimed at growing people • Ensure that adequate training and development of staff is driven • Drive the Unitrans brand into the market and maintain presence • Ensure that corporate brand identity is protected. • Effective PR and communications into the market • Drive all internal and external marketing campaigns
