HOD Production and Repairs - JhbFull job descriptionPosition OverviewThis position offers an exciting opportunity for an HOD of Production Integration and Repairs to work in a highly technical environment.Required Skills and CapabilitiesAt least 12-15 years’ work experience, with a minimum of 4-5 years in the position of production manager in a similar environment, where exposure to underground mining machines is preferredGCC factories is preferredExposure to machine integration processesFamiliar with Quality Assurance / Quality Control Processes and ensuring their holistic integration into the processesExperience with Trackless mining machinery is a pre-requisiteExperience / Exposure with the operating environment of the products we manufacture carries a high preferenceExperience / Exposure with the maintenance and repairs of mechanized mining equipment both at operations and at rebuild plantsSelf-driven, pro-active individual that is performance driven.Able to work in a stressful environment where cost, quality and time are all key performance indicatorsIdeal individual is one who can combine the application of processes and procedures to a passion for excelling in the execution of the works culminating in arriving at products which can be benchmarked on a global stage with respect to quality of build (and capability)Good motivating capable leading skillsPerson that is able to recognize the opportunity of working in a niche market and establishing himself /herself as a successful individual in the industryInnovative, and open to adopting new technologies and driven to keep processes and execution at the avant-garde of available technologyCompetent with procurement and logistics management within the framework of a machine integration operation/sComfortable with engaging with clients, suppliers, partners, employees, employees’ representatives and stakeholders in the execution of his/her dutiesUnderstanding of basics of SA labour law and applicability in the scope of responsibilityCreating an environment focussed on achieving success by striving to extract the best out of a (motivated) team that report to himCompetencies (Key Behaviour Areas)Honesty and transparency in all aspectsTrustworthy and reliableStrong inter-personal skillsExcellent team-playerQualifications/ExperienceEngineering degree, specialization and experience in a production environment.MBA or equivalent or supplementary studies in cost accounting is a pre-requisite
