Job SummaryOur client based in George is currently hiring for a Pack station Stock Controller / Manager.The Pack station Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the packing area within a warehouse or logistics facility. This role ensures the accurate, efficient, and timely packing of goods for dispatch, while maintaining high-quality standards and safety protocols. The manager will lead a team of packers, coordinate with other departments, and continuously improve packing processes.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and lead a team of packers and packstation staff.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to team members.
  • Ensure the team meets productivity targets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Conduct performance reviews and motivate team members to achieve goals.
Packing Operations Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the packstation.
  • Ensure all orders are packed accurately, securely, and in compliance with customer specifications.
  • Ensure that packaging materials are used efficiently and in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain a smooth workflow and minimize delays in the packing process.
Quality Control:
  • Conduct regular checks on packed items to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Address and resolve any packaging issues or errors in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all products are packed in a manner that prevents damage during transportation.
Inventory and Supply Management:
  • Monitor packaging material inventory levels and request replenishments as necessary.
  • Work closely with the inventory team to ensure that packing materials are stocked and readily available.
  • Ensure that any shortages or stock-outs are dealt with promptly.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
  • Ensure the packing area adheres to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Promote and enforce safe working practices to prevent accidents.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure the team follows all health and safety protocols.
Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate the packing process to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement new strategies to increase packing efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Utilize data and feedback to improve productivity, quality, and team morale.
Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of packing activities, inventory, and team performance.
  • Prepare reports on packing performance, including packing times, order accuracy, and productivity metrics.
  • Communicate any operational issues to the management team.
Customer Satisfaction:
  • Ensure orders are packed and dispatched on time to meet customer delivery expectations.
  • Address any customer complaints related to packing or damaged goods.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12/Matric
  • Drivers License
  • Willing to work every second weekend (Saturdays and Sundays)
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within logistics, warehousing, or a similar industry.
  • Experience managing a team and overseeing packing operations is highly desirable.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and packing software is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
