Job Summary A well-established Financial Services Provider (FSP) is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, processing financial transactions, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong bookkeeping experience who thrives in a professional, fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesProcess and follow up on supplier invoices, credit notes, and paymentsMaintain relationships with supplier finance departments and resolve outstanding issuesFile and maintain supporting documentationPrepare cash books and bank reconciliationsPrepare supplier reconciliationsMaintain fixed asset registers, tagging, and verificationProcess routine journal entriesPrepare reconciliation schedules for routine/simple account balancesEnsure primary source documents are accurately recordedAssist with intercompany schedules and confirmationsAssist with preparation of management information and budget schedulesProcess and follow up on customer invoices, credit notes, statements, and depositsAssist with collection of outstanding customer balancesReport daily cash and bank balancesPlan and coordinate payment releasesAssist with weekly and long-term cash flow preparationPrepare and submit VAT, EMP, and Income Tax returns (for simple entities)Assist with preparation of audit and year-end informationParticipate in meetings and assist where requiredFollow company policies, procedures, and strategyWork overtime when required
RequirementsGrade 12 with AccountingCertificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping/Accounting (or equivalent)5-7 years' bookkeeping/accounting experience (minimum 2 years at Bookkeeper II level)Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practicesProficiency in Sage X3, Excel, Outlook, and WordStrong attention to detail and accuracyGood planning, organising, and problem-solving skillsEffective communication skillsAbility to work well under pressureMethodical, focused, and a team playerWillingness to learn and adapt
