
Marketing Assistant

The ideal candidate will:
- Have a basic understanding of financial and investment concepts.
- Be proactive, digitally savvy, and passionate about creating engaging content.
- Enjoy working with numbers and data to support decision-making and problem-solving.
- Assist in the creation, scheduling, and management of social media content (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
- Design and update marketing materials including brochures, factsheets, and digital assets.
- Support the development of PowerPoint presentations for internal and external use.
- Contribute to the ideation and execution of brand campaigns and digital marketing strategies.
- Edit and produce video content using Adobe Premier Pro for marketing and educational purposes.
- Collaborate with the investment and distribution teams to ensure content is relevant, timely, and on-brand.
- Help monitor campaign performance and assist with reporting analytics.
- Stay up to date with marketing trends, particularly in the financial services industry.
- South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
- Must not have previously participated in the YES Programme.
- A completed Bachelors degree or diploma in one of the following fields:
- Marketing
- Communications
- A related field (Marketing/Finance blend is advantageous)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premier Pro).
- Strong PowerPoint and MS Office skills.
- Understanding of social media algorithms, trends, and engagement best practices.
- A portfolio or examples of past work will be an advantage.
- No formal work experience required, but familiarity or academic exposure to the following would be advantageous:
- Microsoft Excel (including formulas/macros).
- SQL or any form of database interaction.
- Python (especially for automation).
- Eager to learn, adaptable, and comfortable working with numbers and technology.
- Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates initiative and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
