A significant player in the battery and energy industry requires an External Sales Representative at their branch on the East Rand. The purpose of the role is to play a key role in increasing sales revenue by generating leads, qualifying prospects and managing existing client sales.Key Responsibilities
  • Marketing, promoting and selling battery products to existing and prospective customers
  • Coordination of daily sales activities
  • Identifying new business and ensuring the follow through and development of this new business
  • Maintain existing clients and responding appropriately to their needs, demand and preferences
  • Be up to date with existing and potential product knowledge from company suppliers
  • Provide product training and support to existing client base and new clients
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining positive business and customer relationships
  • Expedite customer leads through cold calling
  • Co-ordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments
  • Analyze market potential, track sales and status reports
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
Key Requirements
  • Matric and relevant tertiary qualification
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience with energy and battery industry knowledge preferred
  • Excellent sales skills with proven track record
  • Persuasive, persistent and result driven
  • Good organization skills essential
  • Good communication skills essential
  • Ability to build and retain good relationships with others
  • Ability to be able to be diplomatic and handle sensitive issues when under pressure.
