- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow management.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Manage project cost accounting and job costing to ensure profitability and financial control.
- Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts for projects and departments.
- Ensure full compliance with SARS, VAT, PAYE, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits.
- Evaluate financial performance and provide strategic advice to management.
- Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.
- Liaise with project managers to track project expenditure and ensure alignment with budgets.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements.
- CA(SA) qualification with active SAICA membership.
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-article experience, ideally in the construction or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax laws.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Xero, BuildSmart, or Sage).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Based in George or willing to relocate.
- Experience with cost accounting in construction or engineering projects.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Knowledge of construction contracts and project financial reporting.
