Millwright/Maintenance Fitter - Plastics Manufacturing - Cape TownFull job descriptionOur client in the FMCG manufacturing sector is looking for an experienced, trade-tested Millwright/Fitter to join their maintenance team. This role provides a significant opportunity for growth in both scope and responsibilities within the company.Duties and Responsibilities include:Conducting and coordinating all maintenance on machinery and equipment in the departments.Completing maintenance schedules and programs for each machine as per supplier recommendation.Building an inventory of spares for the machines and controlling spares usage and costs.Properly maintaining maintenance records as per ISO Quality System.Identification and achievement of measurable technical and process developments and improvements.Attending to breakdowns.Ordering of necessary equipment and tools for the factory when necessary.Attending relevant meetings i.e. DRM’s Production Meetings, etc where necessary.Assist production in achieving optimum efficiencies.Fault identification, fixing of route cause and ensuring the accurate completion of production logs and job cards.Advising on and implementing technical improvements where appropriate and cost-effective.Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures.Be available for call-outs after hours.Ensuring that the work in the section is performed in terms of agreed expectations and the company’s standards.RequirementsPossession of a N3 qualification (minimum) or higher would be advantageous.Qualified Red Seal Artisan.Have advanced hydraulic and pneumatic experience.Have at least 5 post-qualifying years’ of experience in a production environment.An ability to interact with employees at different levels.Able to run a maintenance program with continuous improvements.Identify and solve problems effectively.Logical, systematic approach with the ability to do minor electronic fault-finding.A passion for Quality.An ability to handle conflict and diffuse it constructively and good communication skills.A willingness to work overtime when necessary.Please submit your CV along with supporting documentation (copy of ID, qualifications, and a recent pay slip) soonest.Please Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Psychometric Assessment will apply for shortlisted candidates.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: R40 000,00 per monthAbility to commute/relocate:Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Application Question(s):Are you currently employed?
