Location: Cape Town, South AfricaWe are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Graduate to join a dynamic and growing team in the civil engineering sector. This is a newly created position designed to support the finance function by relieving responsibilities from the Financial Manager.Ideal Candidate Profile:Based in Cape TownHolds a degree in Finance or AccountingApproximately 2 years of post-qualification accounting experiencePossesses a strong work ethic and a willingness to grow within a hands-on, practical work environmentDemonstrates high attention to detail and strong organisational skillsThis role is not ideal for candidates seeking to pursue CA(SA) qualification in a large corporate setting. Instead, it offers a career path for someone looking to gradually step into a financial management role over time.Key Responsibilities:Accounts ReceivablePrepare and distribute invoices, credit notes, and statementsMaintain internal billing systems and client accountsHandle payment discrepancies and follow up with clientsMaintain detailed records and generate accounts receivable reportsAssist with retention provision recordsGeneral & Cost AccountingProcess accounts receivable transactions and assist with cashbook allocationsMap deposits to cost centresSupport financial reconciliationsAssist with various ad-hoc accounting projectsCompetencies Required:Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Experience with SAGE Evolution is advantageousSolid understanding of accounting fundamentalsAnalytical thinking, attention to detail, and accuracyStrong interpersonal and communication skillsHigh ethical standards and professionalismAdditional Information:This is an employment equity position; however, all suitable candidates who align with the team’s culture will be considered.Role available immediately, but we’re willing to wait for the right candidate.Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo a psychometric assessment before any offer is made.
