
Maintenance Technician

- To operate/fault find and repair all electrical and mechanical equipment and manufacturing lines, auxiliary equipment, power supply networks and lighting of the factory
- Provide a full technical service on a planned maintenance basis in respect of all equipment installations in working hours and after hours
- Work experience as an instrumentation fitter/low-current systems installation
- Analytical skills to follow logic of electronic circuits and interface with software
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve breakdowns or improvements in maintenance
- Take part in all electrical installation and commissioning during modernization and reconstruction of production lines and auxiliary equipment
- Spare parts stock taking and ensuring communication to reorder when stock parts are used
- Ensure that the required spare parts are available before servicing of equipment is conducted
- Troubleshoots technical equipment problems and provides technical guidance where necessary
- Complete job cards and update information accordingly in a timely manner
- Maintain the administration and documentation aspects of the maintenance department ensuring records are kept up to date and communicated to all concerned
- Good knowledge in electrical engineering, automation and fundamentals of industrial electronics. The ability to diagnose problems in the operation of technological and auxiliary production equipment units. Skill of carrying out repairs of various types of electric motors, the ability to use measuring instruments. Able to interpret electrical, mechanical and pneumatic diagrams of various automation systems
- Initiating technical service reports identifying technical deviations and initiating necessary actions
- Ensure all maintenance activities meet EHS and quality requirements set by Sealed Air
- Health, safety and environmental requirements are adhered to
- Ensure all certification as ISO and or BRC is met and maintained
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
- Comply to electrical safety and requirements of SANS 10142-1 Ed 2 ‘living document’ as required by the OHS Act
- Attend daily Gemba meetings
- Maintain satisfactory housekeeping of the maintenance workshop and maintenance store at all times
- 3 years trade tested millwright N6 (Red Seal), National Diploma in electrical engineering or National Diploma in mechanical engineering with hands-on experience.

- Ability to work overtime, weekends, rotational shifts with rotating standby weekends.
