MINING INDUSTRY TECHNICAL WAREHOUSE STOCK CONTROLLER - Port ShepstoneFull job descriptionThe MINING technical warehouse stock controller will be responsible for managing the inventory and stock levels in our technical warehouse. He / she will ensure that stock is accurately recorded, correctly stored, and readily available for use or distribution. This role requires a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITESThese include, but not limited to, the following:· Maintaining accurate inventory records: Regularly updating stock levels and ensuring accurate recording of all incoming and outgoing goods.· Conducting regular stock audits: Performing physical stock counts to verify inventory accuracy and identify any discrepancies.· Coordinating stock movements: Facilitating the movement of stock within the warehouse, ensuring that goods are stored correctly and safely.· Managing stock replenishment: Monitoring stock levels and initiating orders to replenish inventory when necessary.· Collaborating with suppliers: Maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any issues related to stock availability or quality.· Implementing stock control procedures: Developing and implementing procedures to control stock movement, minimize loss, and improve accuracy.· Analyzing stock data: Reviewing stock reports and analyzing data to identify trends, forecast demand and optimize inventory levels.· Resolving stock-related issues: Investigating and resolving any stock-related issues, such as discrepancies, damaged goods or missing items.· Ensuring compliance: Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.· Utilizing warehouse management systems: Utilizing software and technology to manage stock control processes efficiently.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:These include, but not limited to, the following:Ø High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is preferred, but not essential.Ø Proven experience in stock control or warehouse management.Ø Strong computer skills, including proficiency in using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office applications.Ø Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.Ø Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Ø Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ø Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ø Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks, such as lifting heavy items or operating machinery.Ø Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.Ø Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.If you meet all the requirements above, kindly apply with your comprehensive CV and supporting documents to this advert.Job Type: Temp to permApplication Question(s):Do you have experience working in the mining industry?
