- Lead the design process, ensuring a user-centered approach to all design projects.
- Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights and feedback.
- Interaction Design:
- Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts.
- Develop interaction designs that improve user engagement and navigation.
- Visual Design:
- Design visually appealing and on-brand user interfaces for web and mobile applications.
- Collaborate with the design team to create and maintain a consistent visual identity.
- Usability and Accessibility:
- Ensure designs are accessible and comply with industry standards and guidelines.
- Conduct usability assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Design Collaboration:
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate business goals into design solutions.
- Provide design guidance and support to development teams.
- Design Documentation:
- Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides and design specifications.
- Ensure design assets are organized and readily available to the team.
- Design Review and Feedback:
- Lead and participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve design quality.
- Mentor and support junior designers in the team.
- User Testing:
- Plan, conduct, and analyze user testing sessions to validate and refine design concepts.
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback and testing results.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field. (This doesn't really exist for UX - that I'm aware of - even though I know companies are asking for it - mostly internationally) - It needs to be certification in UX design from a reputable source (HFI, UCT, Red & Yellow, etc...) maybe it should be advantageous.
- Proven experience as a UX designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design work. - 5 years for a senior.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar. (no one uses XD or Sketch anymore, Figma should be a prerequisite)
- Strong understanding of user research and usability principles.
- Knowledge of web and mobile development technologies and their impact on design.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies (eg Scrum, Kanban)
- Advantageous: understand CSS, HTML and webflow (not expected)
