- Design of solar photovoltaic plants, Battery energy Storage Systems, lighting layouts, EV charging stations, equipment selections, and building automation in the context of smart environment technology.
- Energy audits, capturing data, site visits, optimisation investigations.
- Feasibility studies using energy load profile and financial models and tools. Install loggers/meters, take measurements on site (e.g., Lux, noise, vibration, current etc.).
- Design holistic solutions for customers.
- Electrical reticulation diagrams, drawings. Manage and improve energy modelling tools and software.
- Assist with commissioning, project support and after sales technical support.
- Performance tracking, and energy behaviour analytics on customers. Assist in collecting information to help optimise the operation costs and project value.
- Use data to make recommendations on energy and optimisation interventions.
- Reporting feedback back to the Head of engineering in JHB.
- Build out and improving existing energy modelling tools including solar PV, lighting, power quality, energy storage simulations and other energy interventions.
- Be familiar with the latest SANS and NERSA regulations and advise customers.
- Assist with SSEG applications for Rubicon projects.
- Gather information from the site in relation to the energy needs (e.g., bills, surveys, photos, investigations).
- Build and grow relationships with contractors and installers.
- Work closely with internal team of sales representatives to develop projects with customers.
- Be familiar with operational H&S requirements.
- Have knowledge on project sureties and insurance related items.
- Understand how to interpret project timelines.
- Support the various branches and customers with metering, solution designs, cost optimisation on capital layout and operational costs analysis with feasibility reports.
- Conduct continuous monitoring and reporting.
- Power quality analysis for BESS specification and PQ solutions.
- Opportunity Support end-users and EPCs in selecting the correct charger technology for the specific application
- Integration of EV chargers with back-end technology in a very young market in SA
- B/B.Sc.Eng. degree in Electric/Electronic/Mechatronic engineering (with min 5 years of work experience in the electrical field).
- Strong academic results.
- Own vehicle and valid driver's licence
- Business development experience for energy-related projects is beneficial.
- Experience with renewable energy, energy storage, electric vehicle charging, or energy efficiency is a requirement.
- Sound knowledge of energy engineering, project management, business development.
- Proven experience in technical sales, communication, project development.
- Hands-on experience implementing energy projects.
- A deep understanding of renewable energy and power quality.
- Up to date with current technology, trends, and best practice in energy engineering.
- People person with strong ability to work in team environments
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with an excellent command of English, both written and verbal

- Excellent computer skills (including Excel models, data analysis, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet packages, solar PV design tools, business analytics and data management, VBA programming, Inventor Pro, AutoCAD)
- Valid driver's license and must be willing to travel, locally and internationally
