Financial Accountant

• Prepare and analyse financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely and accurate transaction recording.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
• Ensure full compliance with tax regulations, prepare and submit tax returns.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and responses.
• Conduct financial analysis to provide actionable insights for business decisions.
• Develop and update accounting policies and procedures.
• Utilize financial software systems efficiently, maintaining data accuracy.
• Process month-end entries through to Trial Balance.
• Oversee monthly payments to Fund Managers and creditors.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for local and offshore accounts.
• Prepare VAT reconciliations and SARB submissions.
• Prepare tax journals and calculations.
• Facilitate a smooth annual audit process through thorough preparation and support.

• SAIPA articles
• Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in Investment Management or a similar financial sector.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance.
• Experience with JDE and advanced Excel skills advantageous.
