An established utilities company based in Randburg, Gauteng is seeking a skilled Linux and Database Administrator to join their dynamic technology team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to infrastructure stability and application performance in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.Responsibilities:

Maintain and manage Linux-based servers.
Install, configure, and optimize MariaDB databases.
Deploy and support applications using the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MariaDB, PHP).
Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot system issues.
Implement strong security practices across systems and databases.
Collaborate with development teams to enhance application efficiency.
Create and maintain clear documentation of all system and database procedures.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience as a Linux and Database Administrator.
Solid knowledge of Linux distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS) and shell scripting.
Expertise in MariaDB administration, including replication and backup strategies.
Understanding of the OSI model and core networking concepts.
Experience with Apache, PHP, and overall, LAMP environments.
Strong troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and team spirit
