- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and agreements.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of procurement activities with organizational goals and objectives.
- Lead the procurement team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to junior buyers.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment to meet demand and minimize stockouts.
- Evaluate supplier performance against key metrics, implementing corrective actions as necessary to drive continuous improvement.
- Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in procurement and supply chain management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a senior buying role within the FMCG industry.
- Proven track record of success in negotiating and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Experience in the liquor industry would be advantageous.
- Salary range: R50,000 to R60,000 per month (depending on experience and qualifications).
