Our client in the bakery manufacturing equipment industry is seeking an Electrician to join their team in Belville, Cape TownWill be responsible to work in the Electrical Department and wire the electrical chassis and control systems according to wire diagrams on all the bakery equipment and repair of electrical problems on all import products.Qualifications / Experience:
  • N6 National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Qualified Electrician - Red Seal.
  • Wireman’s Licence. - 3 Phase Wireman
  • PLC instillation and programming an advantage.
  • Design and program of PLC’s and touch screen control systems. (TSC)
  • Switch board / chassis design and testing.
  • Electrical design and drafting on CAD, Revit, and Sketch up, to draft and update current wiring diagrams, etc.
  • Be able to work extra time when requested to complete projects
  • Need own transport.
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Managing of production staff.
  • Do costing of new Designs and establish BOM and process data and layouts for manufacturing.
  • Continuous assessment of Raw Material prices from Suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Approval of orders for all bulk material and buying decisions must be based on existing stock levels and projection forecasts.
  • Controlling of quality cost and final inspection and approval of products.
  • Make sure that personal are being adequately trained and qualified for their respective jobs, and arrange and identifying of necessary training needs.
  • Improve personnel skills and developed self-discipline according to company policies and regulations.
  • Improve communication and develop effective co-ordination throughout the company.
  • Make sure that all relevant staff working according to fixed targets.
  • Handling and chairing inquiries of disciplinary actions and hearings according to disciplinary code.
  • Motivating of personnel.
  • Human Resources: Recruiting and termination of contracts and planning of staff requirements.
  • Industrial Relations: Handling of all Union related issues.
  • Record keeping of all personnel information.
  • Ensuring of a safe workplace for all staff and chairing safety meetings and investigation of injuries and incidents.
SAFETY:
  • Make sure that all staff use their safety equipment issued, ware company overalls and maintain it.
  • Investigate IOD’s and do preventative actions.
  • Report all safety hazards to the Production Director.
  • Attend Safety meeting and do safety inspections and reports.
  • Plant electrical Maintenance: Check and repair any problems on electrical hand tools, machinery , welding machines, extension leads and DB boards on the premises.
  • Ensure compliance to all departmental and plant safety rules and regulations.
  • All safety non-conformances should be dealt with immediately all unresolved issues must be raised with directors.
  • Carry out continual development of process optimization to ensure safety.
STOCK TAKING:
  • Check stock of consumables and wires on a daily basis to assure that current WIP have parts / consumables to complete wiring of equipment.
  • Assist with stock take at last Saturday of each month.
  • Count products, equipment, assets, production tools, machinery, raw material, WIP, Consumables, parts
HOUSEKEEPING
  • Assure that staff clean their work stations and the rest room daily,
  • Organizing flow of material, parts through the system to avoid any bottle necks.
