Are you passionate about turning data into commercial insights that drive business growth?Our client is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and enjoys partnering with stakeholders across the business to unlock opportunities.This role is based in Sandton, Johannesburg North.Responsibilities:
  • Analyse sales, margin, pricing, customer, and product data to guide strategic decisions.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, models, and KPIs to track performance and identify trends.
  • Conduct variance and profitability analysis across products, channels, and customers.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and planning with accurate financial inputs.
  • Collaborate with commercial, finance, operations, and marketing teams on business cases, promotions, and investments.
  • Assess risks and opportunities, highlighting areas to improve profitability.
  • Present reports and executive summaries to senior leadership.
  • Contribute to pricing reviews, customer contracts, and market/competitor analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality, tools, and reporting processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or similar (Honours/Masters advantageous).
  • 3–6 years’ experience in commercial/financial analysis.
  • Proven ability with financial modelling, forecasting, and advanced analytics.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, QlikView) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) preferred.
  • Experience with large datasets and tools such as SQL, Python, or Excel Power Query advantageous.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to communicate insights clearly.
