
Financial Accountant (Mornings Only)

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 5-10 years' financial experience, including 3+ years in a senior role.
- Solid understanding of South African financial laws, compliance and governance.
- Skilled in budgeting, financial analysis and reporting.
- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel and Pastel Accounting experience.
- Experience in board reporting, stakeholder engagement and external audits.
- Empathy for senior citizens
- Oversee the organisation's financial operations to ensure sustainability and sound decision-making.
- Lead the development of financial systems to optimise resource use.
- Review monthly reports, investigate variances and implement corrective actions.
- Provide financial insights to support executive decisions and strategic planning.
- Lead the annual budgeting process aligned with organisational goals.
- Monitor departmental budgets and enforce cost controls.
- Improve budgeting, forecasting and cost management practices.
- Ensure adherence to legislation, accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Identify, evaluate and mitigate financial risks; maintain strong internal controls.
- Oversee compliance with banking and governance requirements.
- Fulfil duties as Prescribed Officer under the Companies Act.
- Manage cashflow, revenue recognition and debtor processes.
- Ensure accurate tracking and reconciliation of income and expenses.
- Oversee supplier accounts and lead contract negotiations and approvals.
- Prepare year-end financials and coordinate external audits.
- Present audited statements and insights to the Board.
- Build and maintain relationships with banks, auditors and key stakeholders.
