
Moulding Manager

- Production Management
- Deliver plastic components according to agreed production plans and schedules
- Assess daily demand levels and coordinate with stakeholders to meet timing requirements
- Manage Supervisors' activities to achieve the required output targets
- Coordinate with Production Control regarding resource allocation (machines, tools, labour)
- Quality Control & Assurance
- Ensure all moulded parts meet dimensional tolerances
- Coordinate and collaborate with quality assurance teams on incoming material inspection and finished goods testing
- Oversee quality checks, in-process inspections, and documentation accuracy
- Manage corrective action reports, returns, and rejects
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures
- Equipment & Tooling Management
- Liaise with Toolroom regarding tooling requirements and performance capabilities
- Ensure adequate tooling availability for process requirements and economic production
- Coordinate with maintenance providers for equipment repairs and servicing
- Implement preventative maintenance systems and practices
- Team Leadership & Development
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training on moulding processes and safety procedures for direct reports
- Develop individual training plans and implement performance management systems
- Provide coaching and guidance to improve employee performance
- Foster a disciplined, business-focused work environment
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles
- Coordinate cross-functional activities with maintenance, engineering, and quality department
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- Implement and enforce safety procedures for all equipment and personnel
- Maintain knowledge of machinery hazards and safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding plastic processing and waste management
- Implement and monitor lockout/tagout procedures and machine safety protocols
- Create a safe working environment for all department personnel
- Administration & Reporting
- Compile monthly departmental reports covering efficiencies, service levels, and performance metrics
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure data integrity
- Manage budget responsibilities and control operational costs
- Participate in capital expenditure planning and budgeting processes
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field
- Additional certification in injection moulding technology preferred
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is advantageous
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in injection moulding operations
- At least 3+ years in a management role
- Experience in electrical component manufacturing or similar precision moulding applications preferred
- Knowledge of thermoplastic and thermoset processing, particularly flame-retardant and electrical-grade materials
- Proficiency in injection moulding process parameters and troubleshooting
- Understanding of mould design principles and tooling maintenance
- Knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes and quality management systems
- Understanding of occupational health and safety regulations
- Budget management and financial planning capabilities
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Computer skills including ERP systems, production planning software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities
