- Participatig in developing and executing the mill's Maintenance and Improvement strategy, ensuring equipment is available, reliable and efficient.
- Completing effective shut planning and execution including coordination of multidisciplinary annual maintenance shuts.
- Managing and maintaining all engineering installations in the area of responsibility assigned to you.
- Developing and maintaining relevant mill documents and standards, specifications and procedures that ensure compliance with maintenance best practices and engineering standards and specifications.
- Planning and implementing predictive and planned maintenance techniques.
- Identifying, motivating and justifying capital expenditure projects for new plant or machinery upgrades.
- Overseeing the development of equipment and process specifications and approve changes in the design of the plant.
- Accountable for the commissioning of new and decommissioning of old equipment.
- Accountable for contract management including contract negotiations for major engineering contracts in addition to determining when engineering services should be outsourced.
- Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment through complaince to legal regulations and mill procedures.
- Direct maintenance, engineering and project team members in terms of performance management, talent management, goal alignment, career development and learning in areas of responsibility
- Compiling and implementing annual maintenance and fixed costs budgets and participate in long-term financial business plans in order to execute the maintenance and improvement strategy.
- NQF level 8 qualification (4-year Engineering Bachelors degree / Related equivalent) coupled with a relevant management qualification at NQF level 6
- Government Certificate of Competence (Factories)
- Registration as a professional engineer would be considered advantageous
- 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in a heavy industry environment with proven people management experience
- Experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry experience would be advantageous
