The QA/QC Inspector reports to the Operations Manager and leads all quality related processes to ensure exceptional quality of products and services to meet the company and customer requirements.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The QA/QC Inspector will manage all quality documentation; action plans etc. and will support the workshop team during the manufacturing process.
  • The QA/QC Inspector will also assist with checking of raw material / parts from suppliers.
  • The QA/QC Inspector will be responsible for the implementation of the quality portion of the Integrated HSEQ MS System.
  • They will also manage all audits and inspections at supplier sites.
QA/QC Process
  • Ensure measuring tools are calibrated prior to performing quality checks.
  • Manufactured parts shall strictly comply with OEM specifications.
  • Verify that material is as per specifications and track material during supplier process.
  • Verify welders qualifications and ensure welding processes and procedures are met.
  • Check machining processes with operators to ensure items are manufactured as per specification/drawings.
  • Carry out final inspection of parts prior to assembly.
  • Verify materials at suppliers facilities are according to drawing requirements.
Quality Management System
  • Ensure that the quality system meets ISO requirements.
  • Establish QCPs to document processes, inspection plans, hold points, dimensional checks etc.
  • Advise suppliers on manufacturing process relevant to components.
  • Register all non-conformances and investigate with relevant parties to determine root cause and implement corrective and preventative measures.
  • Chair NCR Meetings and report on number of NCRs and non-quality costs on a weekly basis.
  • Strive to reduce number of NCRs and NCR costs.
Audits
  • Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements and acts as principle contact for customer quality issues and inspections.
  • Conduct vendors/subcontractors audits to ensure compliance with company and ISO requirements.
  • Assist procurement in seeking and validating new suppliers.
  • Act as champion for ISO auditing process
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:Qualifications:
  • Qualified artisan or similar experience
  • Proven ISO9001 Implementation (non-negotiable)
  • Auditing qualification (non-negotiable)
Relevant experience:
  • >5 years experience in fabrication and machining workshops
  • Lathes and milling machine knowledge.
  • Level 1 or 2 welding inspection (advantageous)
  • Reading of pneumatic and hydraulic drawings are critical.
  • Use of quality measuring equipment is essential.
