
Quality Controller : Machine Shop

- Inspect the quality and dimensions of all incoming raw materials; allocate to specific work orders and report any concerns
- Inspection of all tooling, gauges and measuring equipment; ensuring that it is correctly calibrated and used
- Identify, report and complete non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Ensure that every product produced is of high quality and conforms to specifications and drawings
- Monitor quality, accuracy and efficiency of teams work in terms of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies and report any issues or possible improvements required to Manager
- Direct, mentor, coach and guide staff and assist with correcting any performance and quality concerns
- Drive continuous quality improvements on the shop floor
- Maintain all inspection documentation, including job cards, deviation reports, and quality records
- Assist in developing and refining standard QC procedures and SOPs
- Uphold ISO and internal quality system requirements
- Any other tasks or adhoc duties, as agreed with the Manager, suited to this role
- Minimum of at least 5 years of Dedicated QC experience in a precision engineering or machining environment
- Minimum 10 years post trade test working experience in a manufacturing/engineering/ production environment
- Strong knowledge of machining tolerances, drawings (GD&T), and inspection tools (e.g. micrometres, verniers, height gauges).
- Experience with cast iron and large, heavy components will be an advantage
- Working knowledge of OHSA
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
- Good written, verbal and listening skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
- Valid Driver's license and own reliable transport
- Have expertise on material characteristics
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in inspections
- Ability to prioritise workload and perform effectively in a pressurized environment
