Reporting to the Quarry Superintendent, the role is responsible for operating equipment such as forklift, excavator, articulated dump truck, front-end loader and other mobile plant equipment.Basic duties include:Load trucks, crushing, mining.Basic housekeeping and maintenance.Collect samples required by the lab for quality assurance.Safe work practices including conducting risk assessments.Ability to plan, organize and undertake work in a safe and efficient manner.Operate front end loaders, dump trucks, excavators, crushers, mills, forklifts, and water carts.Complete risk assessments and job hazard analysis when required.General plant operation and bagging, manual clean up and basic maintenance.To be the successful candidate, it is essential that you have:Experience as a fixed plant and mobile plant operator in a limestone quarrying environment. This should include experience operating crushing, screening, milling and conveyor equipment and front-end loaders, dump trucks, water carts and excavators.Qualifications in surface extraction and/or mineral processing.Have crusher, grinder and miller and other manufacturing fixed plant experience and computer literate.Flexibility to work early mornings, days, evenings and weekends as required.Eligibility for a NZ driver’s license.You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to be considered for this role.Our WorkplaceGraymont derives its competitive edge in large part from more than 1,700 employees who bring their individually diverse skills and energy to work every day at offices and plant sites across North America and Asia-Pacific.
