RPO Recruitment is currently representing a leading mining company in North West, who is seeking a skilled Safety Officer to join their team.Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments
Implement and maintain safety management systems and procedures
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
Investigate incidents and accidents, and provide detailed reports
Deliver safety training and awareness programs to employees
Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols

Requirements

Grade 12 certificate
Degree/Diploma in Risk Management or related field
SAMTRAC/COMSOC 1&2 qualification is essential
At least 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the mining industry
Experience in investigation, inspection & reporting
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and legislation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
