Role PurposeThe Utilities Manager will perform a support function to the Facilities Manager, specifically focusing on the administration and management of utilities across the property portfolio. The role ensures accurate billing, effective liaison with municipalities and suppliers, and contributes to sustainability initiatives by monitoring and reporting on consumption.Key ResponsibilitiesResolve queries relating to utilities with municipalities.Report on energy management and consumption for the portfolio and sustainability reporting.Liaise and negotiate with distributors and regulatory bodies regarding billing issues.Monitor utilities procedures and ensure compliance across the portfolio.Maintain data integrity by reviewing invoices and documentation for accuracy and recommending remediation where needed.Review and audit leases to ensure accurate billing of all utility charges.Manage LPG suppliers on site, including queries, COC updates, and route requests.Understand and manage water and electricity supplies, including alternatives and changeovers when required.Act as point of contact for tenant utility queries.Oversee electricity and water company audits and communication.Analyse utility recoveries and ensure correct allocations.Maintain and update BMS systems as required.Track and update water and electricity meter records.Manage telecommunications suppliers on site.Liaise with Eskom on contracts, communication, and site-related matters.Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 with Accountancy as a subject.25 years administration experience, preferably within finance, audit, or utilities.Knowledge of building utilities essential.Competencies & SkillsStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.Strategic planning and analytical ability.Emotional intelligence and adaptability.Customer and quality focus.Problem-solving and decision-making skills.Finance and business acumen.Should you not receive a response within 10 working days, please consider your application unsuccessful.
