They are looking for a detail-driven team player to support their purchasing department and help maintain optimal stock levels to drive sales success.The Role: Purchasing and Stock Control Assistant
The purpose of this role is to support the Purchasing Manager by planning and controlling stock levels, ensuring product availability across all lines while keeping costs in check. You'll manage purchase orders, stock codes, supplier communication, and data accuracy to ensure smooth procurement operations and drive performance.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and control stock levels across all product lines to maximise sales while managing costLiaise with Sales and Warehouse teams to agree and maintain optimal stock levelsReview and correct orders to prevent understocking or overstockingConduct weekly demand reviews and identify necessary adjustmentsMaintain accurate product lead times to ensure timely deliveryEnsure coding accuracy for all stock lines and maintain system dataOversee administrative tasks including Proof of Delivery (POD) tracking, invoice checking, and query resolutionManage purchasing of standard products and maintain updates in purchasing systemsAssist with supplier reviews for pricing, delivery, and service qualityEnsure timely placement of direct deliveriesMaintain supplier communication to identify innovations and provide product feedbackCoordinate with Finance to resolve supplier invoice queriesAbout You2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or stock controlStrong administrative and organisational skillsExcellent attention to detail and data accuracyConfident with Excel and stock planning softwareExperience with NetStock and Microsoft Dynamics is a strong advantageComfortable working independently in a remote or hybrid environmentA proactive communicator and effective collaborator across departmentsReady to join a professional and fast-paced purchasing team?
