- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to interpret specifications and develop detailed plans for press tools, jigs, and dies.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software to create 2D and 3D models of tools for precision manufacturing.
- Machining and Fabrication:
- Operate conventional and CNC machines to produce tool components according to design specifications.
- Work with a variety of materials, including metals and alloys, to fabricate high-precision components.
- Ensure all tools are manufactured to tight tolerances and meet quality standards.
- Assembly and Testing:
- Assemble press tools, jigs, and dies, ensuring proper fit and functionality.
- Conduct testing and adjustments to achieve optimal performance and efficiency.
- Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance on existing press tools to ensure continuous operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair tools as needed to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with production teams to understand tooling requirements and provide timely support.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve tooling designs and processes for enhanced efficiency.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all tool designs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
- Document and communicate any changes made to press tools to relevant stakeholders.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical education or certification in tool and die making is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tool, Jig, and Die Maker with a focus on press tools.
- Skills:
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software for tool design.
- Strong machining skills with both conventional and CNC machines.
- In-depth knowledge of metallurgy and materials used in tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Communication: Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
