Job SummaryA leading importer and distributor in the plumbing products industry is looking for an ambitious and hands-on General Manager with strong experience in stock management, warehouse operations, and performance management to join their team in Montagu Gardens. This is a growth-oriented role where the successful candidate will work closely with the business owner, managing day-to-day operations while building a long-term career with the company.Responsibilities:Act as a trusted operational partner to the business owner, ensuring the effective execution of business objectives.Oversee distribution and warehouse operations, ensuring efficient stock management, accurate reporting, and smooth supply chain processes.Manage the showroom retail environment to deliver excellent customer service and achieve sales targets.Supervise the service and repairs division, ensuring quality control, turnaround times, and customer satisfaction.Support customer and supplier relationship management, including negotiations and resolving issues.Apply financial discipline by monitoring budgets, margins, debtor days, and working capital.Lead and motivate a team of 20 employees across multiple business areas, driving accountability and performance.Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements.Provide regular reporting and insights on key metrics, risks, and opportunities.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Management, Logistics, or a related field (essential).Relevant experience in import, distribution, retail, or service/repairs operations.Strong stock management and warehouse operations knowledge.Proven maturity, reliability, and ability to handle challenging conversations.Sound financial acumen with experience analysing margins, costs, and working capital.Hands-on and pragmatic leadership style with team management experience preferred.Demonstrated potential to grow into senior leadership responsibilities.Benefits:
