Geographical area: Germiston, JohannesburgQualifications and experience:
- National Diploma/ BSc/BA: Information Technology: Computer Science or related
- Professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA))
- Min 3-5 years working experience in a relevant field
- Proven working experience as an IT / OT Administrator, System Administrator or relevant experience
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), patch management and cloud technologies
- Ability to create scripts in VB.net, HTML, Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS, A+ or other language
- Internet security and data privacy principles
- Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
- Expert in Computer hardware: PC’s, Servers and VM etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Domain controllers
- Experience with VMWARE virtual technologies and backup methods
- Beneficial experience on Linux systems like Kubernetes
- Beneficial experience in Network infrastructure, Network Setup and Firewall configurations
- Install, configure, test, and maintain hardware, operating systems, application software, and network tools.
- Monitor and optimise system and network performance, proactively troubleshooting issues and outages.
- Ensure the highest levels of OT infrastructure availability, security, and efficiency (firewalls, DC authentications, backups).
- Manage servers, domain controllers, workstations, and user accounts; train and support staff on system use.
- Develop and maintain local and intranet networks, ensuring data integrity and compliance with company/legal standards.
- Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and redundancy strategies to minimise downtime.
- Draft and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and system specifications.
- Design and develop production reports, middleware applications, and custom user-defined tools using agile principles.
- Maintain and enhance DSS, MIS, and other information systems while troubleshooting daily deviations.
- Lead MIS and OT aspects of plant projects and improvements, aligning with industrial automation standards.
- Drive technology migrations, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
- Conduct inspections, safety checks, and compliance audits, while contributing to departmental safety programs.
