DESCRIPTIONThis role will lead the Payments Acceptance and processing for Amazon stores in South Africa. At Amazon, we have a long history of providing innovative solutions for our customers. We build trusted, simple, and affordable payment experiences for our customers and solve for challenges such as increasing electronic payment coverage, increasing purchasing power at checkout, mitigating transactional risks, and offer payment insights. The South Africa Payments Team is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to build and scale Payment Products for Amazon in South Africa. You will be responsible for developing products that improve the payments experience of new and existing Amazon customers as they navigate through their purchase experience. You will ensure that Amazon delivers a consistent and low friction purchase and payment experience across all businesses, removing bottlenecks to drive growth. The role will also be responsible to drive adoption of electronic payments and ensure compliance with latest regulations. Expect to dive deep into customer metrics, competitive bench marking, technical improvements, better customer experience and other relevant data to inform your product strategy. This role will collaborate with internal customers to build business cases to advocate for new payments experiences, define product design and requirements, own the roadmap for the charter and provide regular business updates. You will ground your approach on analytics, collaborating with our Product Managers, Technical Teams, Payments Operations, Legal, Public Policy, Finance and Data Scientists to drive the best experience for Amazon South Africa customers. You will also work with external banking stakeholders to as needed. This position involves regular communication with senior leadership on product design and feasibility, business case, improvement areas, project execution and operational risks. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential. The ideal candidate will also have superior analytical abilities, a track record of finding practical, simple and creative solutions to complicated problems without sacrificing quality or core functionality, and stellar business writing skills. You should be comfortable working both at a strategic level and diving deep into the details to ensure solution feasibility and quality of execution. You will ensure that Amazon's products meet and exceed the highest standards in experience, cost, engagement, security and technical precision. You will help chart the course of creating new products and services that solve real problems for our customers.

Product-strategy /direction: Continually assess the needs of customers, market trends, competitive opportunities and threats in defining and evolving the product-strategy for digitization. Define both long term strategy and short-term plans to achieve the product-vision and deliver business results. Roadmap-Planning: Ensure consistent execution of product-lifecycle processes from concept to launch. Provide value-based prioritization of product development initiatives to ensure maximum ROI and market-driven alignment. Deliver world-class innovation in features, usability and product performance in consistent cadence of releases. Manage a cross-functional process for prioritizing, delivering and launching major product releases. Requirements-Definition: Develop comprehensive product plans, incorporating market requirements, define the competitive arena, and establish the objectives, strategies, and actions required to achieve business goals. Produce high quality requirements documents and effectively prioritize and manage the scope of each product launch to deliver key capabilities on time and on budget. Write user stories to communicate customer needs in an agile development environment. Product-Roll-out: Work with teams to create and execute go-to-market plans for new features. Monitor key performance metrics to ensure product performance and identify optimization opportunities.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Cape Town, ZAFBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- 10+ years of blending product and program management skills to execute strategic initiatives about process creation, standardization, and improvement experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
